Like many broadcast meteorologists, my fascination with weather began at a very early age. I was always looking up at the skies as a kid. Thunderstorms terrified me at first, but through elementary school this fear turned into wonder and awe. A favorite hobby of mine was to document the weather of all types and seasons, through pictures, video and writing. I grew up a Hoosier in Bloomington, Indiana, and my family relocated to Kentucky when I was ten. Watching the meteorologists from a television station just a few miles from my home in Henderson solidified my career choice: I wanted to be a broadcast meteorologist someday.

The first step in achieving this was enrolling at Western Kentucky University. Looking back, I could not be more happy with my choice of school. I am grateful for the opportunities WKU gave me to learn and grow, from the top-notch professors to the many professional development activities in the meteorology and broadcast departments.

My career began at WNKY in Bowling Green, Kentucky shortly before I graduated school, and after that was a stint at WPTA in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I was glad to continue to call the Midwest home for a while, but my next job took me to Waco, Texas at KXXV. Weekend meteorologist duties were involved in all of the above positions, with some midday roles here and there. After four years in Texas, I returned to the Midwest by joining KSHB in Kansas City, Missouri.

When I'm not looking at the weather or reading up on severe weather history, you'll probably find me with my headphones on. I'm primarily a metalhead, and though the bass guitar is my instrument of choice now, I did play the French horn for many years. A highlight of visiting my family's home is spending time with my dog and cat.
